Friday 18th October
Another busy and varied week at the Nursery School this week, from the children attending trips to the London Symphony Orchestra to making potions with their friends. We are seeing the children very settled now and it is wonderful to see the children confidently exploring the Nursery environment and developing their own interests and inquiries.
Halloween at the Nursery School
The children have been very interested in all things spooky this week inspired by the books of the week for Blue and Green class. To follow on from this interest and as we are also having a Halloween bake sale on Tuesday, children are welcome to come dressed in Halloween costumes on Tuesday if they wish.
The Halloween bake sale will be at 11.45am and 3.35pm on Tuesday 22nd October; please drop off any baked goods at the office on this day and do remember to bring lots of change on this day as we have a limited number of card-readers.
Next week events for parents/carers
Next week will be our last week at the Nursery School before we break up for the half term break. I will be holding a parents information session about the process of applying for a Reception place for September 2025; this will be on Thursday 24th October at 9.15-10.00am. If your child attends an afternoon session and you would like to come to the talk in the morning please let Subpreet know and we can plan for your child to be in the provision at this time.
Don't forget on the last day of term we also have Fire Friday. Please see timings below:
- 9.15am- Green class- morning and all day children
- 11.00am-Blue class -morning and all day children in Blue and Green class
- 1.00pm- Blue and green class- afternoon children
Please ensure you arrive on time as we cannot let parents in after the camp-fire has started due to our fire safety rules.
Nappies and pullovers in Green class
From after the half term break we will be supporting children in green class with their toileting with only nappies moving forward. Please ensure that after the half term break you bring in nappies with tabs for your child.
We will only be using pull-ups with children if they have started potty training and you have agreed with your child's key person that pull-ups would support their independence further. The research around pull-ups however is mixed and the preference once potty training has started is for children to start wearing pants, so they can start to identify when they are feeling wet. However we can support families with pull-ups if they feel this is the best course for their child during potty training. Please come speak to Jade or Subpreet if you have any further questions.
Have a great weekend and see you all on Monday!
