Moss Hall

Nursery School

Governance

Our governing body, whose responsibilities are undertaken on an unpaid, voluntary basis, is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of educational performance, financial management and regulatory compliance.

Their role is to set the aims and objectives for Moss Hall Nursery School, set the policies and targets to meet them and monitor and evaluate the progress the nursery school is making towards reaching them to ensure we are providing the best we can for children and families.

The current governing body is made up of the Head teacher plus one other staff member, local authority, community (co-opted) and parent governors, all of whom are committed to working tirelessly on the nursery school’s behalf. Our governors do not have any business or financial interests which may impact on their role nor are they governors at other schools unless stated.

Oversight of nursery school business is undertaken in a Full Governing Body meeting once a term and two committees, curriculum and resources. Members provide oversight and scrutiny of the school’s safeguarding, academic standards, budget, and health and safety. Minutes of the full governing body meetings are available on the school website.

Positions for the governing body come up on a regular basis, and applications are warmly encouraged. If you are interested in becoming a governor at the school, please contact the school office for further information.
