Meet our Governors
Jonathan Brown - Co-Chair of Governors
Jonathan is Co-Chair of the Governing Body, Vice-Chair of the Resources Committee and the Link Governor for Health and Safety. He has worked in recruitment and travel and, for the last 33 years, has owned restaurants in London and Osaka and worked as a trade consultant.
Jonathan has had the honour of serving on the Nursery Governing Body for almost 30 years.
During that time, 6 Head Teachers have come and gone, the building has been enlarged and the garden embellished but the quality of Early Years education on offer remains undiminished.
His five children all embarked on their state education journey here; it is in no small part a consequence of their benefiting from the stimulating, warm and professional environment which nurtured them in their first forays into the big, wide world that he continues to wish to contribute to maintaining and developing the precious educational jewel that is Moss Hall Nursery for this and future generations.
Patrick Richmond - Co-Chair of Governors
Patrick is Co-Chair of the Governing Body and Vice-Chair of the Curriculum Sub-Committee. He has worked in education for over 25 years as a qualified primary teacher, teaching across the full primary age range from Nursery to Year 6, and has held senior leadership responsibility in a large London primary school, where he led Early Years.
He is also a specialist dyslexia teacher, having completed a Level 7 qualification, and holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). His professional work has been shaped by a strong commitment to inclusive education and to ensuring that all children, particularly those with additional needs, are supported to thrive.
Patrick’s connection to Moss Hall is both professional and personal. His children attended Moss Hall Nursery, Infant and Junior Schools, and he has previously served as Co-Chair of Governors at Moss Hall Infant School as well as a governor within the Moss Hall Schools Federation.
It is through this combination of professional experience and personal connection that Patrick is committed to supporting the Nursery in maintaining its high standards and continuing to provide a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive environment for all children at the very start of their educational journey.
Janine O'Higgins - Parent Governor
Janine is a Parent Governor at Moss Hall Nursery School and has a strong personal connection to the nursery. Her daughter previously attended and received a wonderful start to her learning journey, and her younger child is planning to attend in the future.
Janine is currently Head of Early Years and Head of Maths at a primary school in Camden and brings 18 years of teaching experience from both the UK and international schools. With a strong professional background in Early Years education, she is passionate about learning through play and the importance of positive interactions in supporting young children’s development. She has a deep understanding of how high-quality early learning experiences create strong foundations for children’s future learning.
Janine values Moss Hall Nursery as a very special place with a warm and supportive community. She believes the nursery provides an invaluable environment, with rich outdoor learning opportunities that help children grow in confidence while developing meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
Alexandra Mosafi - Co-opted Governor
Alexandra is thrilled to step into life at Moss Hall Nursery as her first foray as a governor. With two boys of her own, she appreciates the importance of having a broad spectrum of people invested in every child's education.
Working as a writer, with decades of global advertising under her belt, literacy and communication are where her passions lie. Definitely don't ask to help with maths homework! The warm, inclusive and incredibly welcoming environment at Moss Hall is what most attracted her to the setting - enacting real world learning through play brings smiles to pupils, parents and staff every time she visits the nursery.
Tim Gibbs - Co-opted Governor
Tim was a parent governor and is now a co-opted governor. He has lived in Finchley since 2010 and his three children have all spent wonderful, fulfilled years at Moss Hall nursery, most recently his son Dylan who attended in 2023-4.
Tim has 20 years experience as a civil servant, in roles involving policy, recruitment, and digital transformation. Tim views Moss Hall nursery as having a brilliant, child-centred ethos, with committed staff who allow children of all backgrounds to thrive.
